Husum, 10 September 2019 - From 10 to 13 September, the cradle of the wind industry, HUSUM Wind, will once again be the meeting place for the wind industry in Germany. The WAB will be represented at the trade fair with a meeting point in Hall 1, Stand 1E02. WAB Managing Director Heike Winkler will also give a lecture on "Stable offshore market in Germany - door opener for export" at the Windkraft Zulieferer Forum and in the context of the WAB German Inland Campaign. Whether the storm "Sebastian", the "electricity price brake" or the less ambitious political expansion targets for wind, the wind industry on land and at sea cannot yet be driven away even by the strongest headwind and slackness.
As a nationwide contact for the offshore wind energy industry and onshore wind energy in the northwest, the WAB represents the interests of its approximately 260 members and covers the entire value chain of the wind industry. During HUSUM Wind, the network provides information on its national and international activities and current regulatory developments in the field of offshore and onshore wind energy. Heike Winkler says: "We cordially invite our members and other interested parties to network, to exchange industry information or simply to take a short break at our stand!"
In addition, the WAB will use the HUSUM Wind to once again emphasize its demand for more ambitious expansion of wind energy on land and at sea. Taking into account the development of new storage technologies (P2X) and sector coupling, WAB is committed to an offshore target path of at least 20 gigawatts (GW) by 2030 and 35 GW by 2035. In order to alleviate the current lull for the offshore wind industry, WAB - together with the other offshore associations - is calling on Berlin politicians to make a special contribution of up to 2 GW as quickly as possible. In the onshore sector, the topic of acceptance and the acceleration of approval procedures and the regulations on air traffic control with regard to onshore wind energy should be more strongly addressed.
This year WAB will again be represented at the "Windkraft Zulieferer Forum" (Hall 2, Stand E21), which has been organised by Plarad - Maschinenfabrik Wagner since 2012. The central idea of the forum is to bring together suppliers and manufacturers from the wind industry. WAB Interim Managing Director Heike Winkler will give a lecture on "Stable offshore market in Germany - door opener for export" on 11 September at 4:05 pm. Heike Winkler will also participate in the concluding panel discussion. For the domestic offshore wind industry outside Europe the markets Taiwan, USA, followed by Japan are currently particularly interesting.
The authentic Nordic HUSUM Wind is the "cradle of the wind industry" and with 17,500 expected trade visitors it is the meeting point, workbench and shop window for the wind industry. This year, the trade fair is taking a pioneering approach with the special theme of Power-to-X technologies. A topic that the WAB, in cooperation with the H2BX association, is also taking up in the new Hydrogen WAB Working Group.
